Cowboys & Aliens Movie

Cowboys & Aliens Movie PosterThis morning the woman and I went to go see the Cowboys & Aliens movie starring Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford. This movie has two things I really like, cowboys and especially aliens. When you put them together, wow! Anyways, I did no research on the movie before going to see it. As the intro credits went by I noticed it was written by those guys that did the TV show Lost. Okay, now I’m worried. I feel they have a hit or miss record when writing scripts. Star Trek, awesome – Lost’s ending, crap.

SPOILER ALERT!

To summarize as condensed as possible, the movie starts out with Craig in the desert, with amnesia, dirty, no shoes, with the large metal bracelet that turns out to be an alien weapon later on. He kills three guys, steals some clothes from one of the dead guys, rides a horse to town, gets a wound sewn up by a preacher, smacks around Ford’s kid, gets locked up for a long list of illegal activity, aliens attack, people get abducted, a posse is formed to get the people back, preacher gets killed by an alien, they follow the alien tracks north, run into Craig’s former gang, aliens attack again, Olivia Wilde’s character gets abducted, Craig rescues her in an aerial assault, joke about flying and not liking it, Wilde gets fatally injured by alien, Craig kills alien, Wilde dies, posse runs into Indians, they burn Wilde’s body, Wilde magically comes back to life, turns out she is a different kind of alien [the shape-shifting kind?], Craig drinks an Indian potion and remembers his past and how to get to the hidden alien location, posse goes to alien hideout, boom boom, kill kill, aliens and humans attack each other [humans get killed far more than the aliens yet there doesn't seem to be a diminish in their numbers], abducted humans get rescued, alien Wilde goes suicide bomber when the aliens launch their ship and say bye bye aliens, she takes them all out using Craig’s alien weapon as a bomb. P.S. Aliens were stealing gold and using it as fuel[?] for their ship.

That about sums up the movie. It’s far more exciting when you see it. I liked it, the woman liked it, if you’re into cowboys or aliens or both of them being together in a story, then you should like it. Writers get +1. My review: Thumbs Up!
